Just weigh, mix, pour and bake.

I’ve been providing simple baking recipes to a friend of mine. She has never been taught to bake but her daughter has shown an interest and she wants to make baking creations with her. So she needs no nonsense, not patronising and delicious recipes. What I call ‘no fannying about baking’. I know many people who would like to bake but are daunted. They think they have to have the right equipment, the right oven or the proper ingredients.

Then it occurred to me. I should have all these recipes in one place so my friend and myself had easy access. The amount of times I’ve been searching and wasting precious baking minutes looking for that particular scrap of paper I’ve had twenty years with the recipe scribbled on. Ridiculous.

Originally I set it up as a page on this blog. But that way I could only provide links to posts within this blog. So I’ve set up another blog. I know, I know, that means I have three blogs. This one. A Feast of Female Fiction and now I have Helen Bakes. Simple, no nonsense but effective baking.
