The star layers

I was wrong on my last post. The two chickens laying eggs are Nelly (the brown one) and Agatha (the white one). So far we’ve had eggy bread, ginger bread loaf and hard boiled egg. It’ll never get old.

Each chicken has its own character. Adventurous, skittish, dominant, friendly, curious. They’re lovely to have around and bring the garden to life. The cats are bemused by them. So far we’ve had no trouble. (Saying that, I did have to rescue a one day old moorhen chick from the cat’s mouth a few days ago. It floated off quite happily once I placed it in the pond.)
